1) Load up on Fiber
Getting adequate fiber is so important for optimal digestion. Prebiotic fibers specifically are known to play a huge role when it comes to a healthy gut. A good quality prebiotic supplement like MSPrebiotic powder is perfect for this. Food choices like Flaxseed Meal, Chia seeds, Oats, fruits, and vegetables are also great fiber hits!
2) Try a Digestive Enzyme Supplement
It is very common to deal with digestive disturbances if you are not producing adequate amounts of the enzymes responsible for breaking down proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. In this case, it is important to supplement with a digestive enzyme. Taking these supplements with a meal can decrease bloating, improve bowel movements, and ease any discomfort associated with eating.
3) Enjoy Mint Tea
Mint tea is a remedy that has been used for decades to improve digestion and relieve bloating. Since mint is an anti-spasmodic, it can really help soothe stomach aches and indigestion. Try incorporating one cup of mint tea daily after your heaviest meal. Make sure to use boiling water and steep the tea bag for at least 5 minutes!
4) Incorporate Aloe
A good quality aloe vera juice can go a long way when it comes to improving intestinal health. Aloe contains enzymes that help metabolize food and can be very soothing for the digestive tract. It can also act as a gentle laxative for those suffering from constipation. Start with 1/2 a cup of aloe juice daily, and slowly work up to one full cup.
